Rainfall and Earthquake-induced Landslide Susceptibility Assessment

چکیده
When rainfall and earthquake occur simultaneously, large-scale landslides can cause direct damage to lives structures. To reduce such landslide damage, earthquake-induced susceptibility has be evaluated. Therefore, in this study, was evaluated by considering only rainfall, earthquake, both the Atsuma region of Japan, where a triggered combination earthquake. Through quantitative index analysis, accuracy map improved when were considered. The proposed method also applied Naari basin Yangnam-myeon, Gyeongju as pilot district. We found that landslide-susceptible area increased considered simultaneously than separately. research, used basic data for complex disaster vulnerability assessment.

Rainfall-induced landslide susceptibility zonation of Puerto Rico
Landslides are a major geologic hazard with estimated tens of deaths and $1–2 billion in economic losses per year in the US alone. The island of Puerto Rico experiences one or two large events per year, often triggered in steeply sloped areas by prolonged and heavy rainfall. Identifying areas susceptible to landslides thus has great potential value for Puerto Rico and would allow better managem...
متن کاملSpatial patterns of rainfall and shallow landslide susceptibility
[1] We quantify the effect of spatial patterns in climatological rainfall on shallow landslide susceptibility by forcing a physically based model of slope stability (SHALSTAB) with the rainfall pattern produced by a high-resolution atmospheric model (MM5) over the western Olympic Mountains of Washington State. Our results suggest that for two small basins in the Olympics, 10 km–scale variations...
متن کاملPredicting global landslide spatiotemporal distribution: Integrating landslide susceptibility zoning techniques and real-time satellite rainfall estimates
Landslides triggered by rainfall can possibly be foreseen in real time by jointly using rainfall intensity-duration thresholds and information related to land surface susceptibility. However, no system exists at either a national or a global scale to monitor or detect rainfall conditions that may trigger landslides due to the lack of sufficient ground-based observing network in many parts of th...
متن کاملSurvey for Methods to Characterize the Landslide Caused By the Rainfall and Earthquake
Landslides are characteristic phenomena for the element offset of the world's surface. Substantial precipitation and tremors are the two main considerations for landslides. The appropriation of region size is the most essential quantitative parameter of landslides. Along these lines, the motivation behind this study is to describe the scale and spatial contrast of precipitation actuated as cont...
متن کاملAssessment of Landslide Volume for Alishan Highway Based On Database of Rainfall-Induced Slope Failure
In this paper, a study of slope failures along the Alishan Highway is carried out. An innovative empirical model is developed based on 15-year records of rainfall-induced slope failures. The statistical models are intended for assessing the volume of landslide for slope failure along the Alishan Highway in the future. The rainfall data considered in the proposed models include the effective cum...
